YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation Review

YSL has released a new foundation, YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation. There are 22 shades available in  YSL All Hours Foundation range. I will say off the bat that the shade ranges for women of colour is just pitiful. I mean it is 2017 and we still can’t make shades for everyone. So hopefully they add more shades ranges to this line.

YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation

What YSL says: A new 24-Hour, full-coverage foundation that instantly blurs pores and fines lines and provides uninterrupted flawless wear that looks and feels just applied, all-day.

YSL claims that the YSL All Hours Foundation 24-Hour advanced formula won’t cake, dry, flake, or fade. Transfer-proof, oil-free and non-pore clogging, this foundation stands up to makeup meltdowns by combining move-with-you flexible pigments and skin-loving ingredients for better flawless coverage and skin that feels fresh and comfortable from day to night.

I was sent the shade BR50 Cool Honey ( Medium/Tan Pink) pink undertone from Influenster. I had selected the shade B50 Honey (Medium/ Tan) neutral undertone. But I have made it work for me, I am hoping that it will suit me a little better once Winter comes.

The foundation comes in a frosted bottle with a pump, which is nice. It doesn’t pump out more product than you need.

It is a matte finish. Which I am not going to lie it did kind of scare me a little, especially since I have normal to dry skin. A matte foundation on dry skin, is not a pretty picture a lot of the times. YSL does claim that this foundation is for people with normal, combination and oily skin types.

The YSL All Hours Foundation is a full coverage foundation, usually I’m personally not a fan of full coverage foundations. Just because I do not like the whole cakey feel on my face. With the YSL All Hours Foundation I did not get that feeling, even though it is a full coverage foundation. Maybe it is because I apply it with a Beauty Blender, instead of a foundation brush. I feel like Beauty Blender soaks up a little more product.

There is a slight scent, it is YSL so one would expect that from them. I know not everyone is a fan of scents when it comes to your foundations. The scent does disappear once applied to your face.

YSL claims that this is a 24-Hour foundation, now I don’t know who wears their foundation for 24-Hours, maybe flight attendants, right. I have worn it for about 8 hours and it held up really good. You could still see my pores even though YSL claims that, it instantly blurs pores and fine lines. I will say that it does provide you with a flawless look. One thing I noticed everytime towards the end of the night ,that you do see some separation around my chin area. Living in Texas is a great way to test out foundations, we have heat, humidity. I tend to not wear makeup during the Summer months in Texas. But since I was testing out the foundation. It did really well, I did not get that feeling of scraping off my foundation as soon as I stepped out into the heat.

I alternate my primers usually, depending on what I feel like using. Usually my primer from Korres, or my Hour Glass Veil Primer.

The YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation retails for $58.00. Which is a pretty penny for a foundation and you want it to be really good. It is a really good foundation, only issue I had was the shade and also the shade range for people of colour, or let me rather say the lack of shades for people of colour.

* I did receive the YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation complimentary for testing
