The Masquerade Palette is absolutely stunning. The palette was inspired by African Festivities filled with enormous joy and spiritual activities. The Bold Colours represent costumes used in festivals. The nude and browns represent the African soil and environments. The perfect balance of bolds and neutrals”
Juvia’s Place owner, Chichi Eburu, is a Nigeria-born wife and mother of two. She launched her cosmetic company, Juvia’s Place a little over two years ago. She started out selling makeup brushes and then launched the Nubian palette. Which was catapulted the whole Juvia’s Place viral and rapid growth all from Instagram and YouTube.
Eburu, has said that she has dark skin, so she usually picks colours that she always tests on her skin and people with even dark skin. She has said if it shows on her skin and on the other skin tones. Then it will show on anyone’s skin. These shadows look absolutely stunning on people with a dark skin tone.
Currently, Juvia’s Place has four eyeshadow palettes • The Nubian Palette • The Nubian 2 Palette • The Masquerade Palette and lastly • The Saharan Palette
Juvia’s Place will be releasing a new palette in the next couple of months and it looks beautiful.
Alright, let us get into the beautiful palette. The Masquerade Palette 🙂
I love the art work on these palettes. You don’t get mirrors but, I do not mind.
The Masquerade Palette palette contains 16 beautiful/pigmentated eye shadows. The palette contains 5 mattes, 2 mattes with micro glitter and 9 metallics/foiled shadows. I feel like the micro glitter and metallics definitely pack more of a punch than the matte shades. The mattes do need a bit of working with, but they are great once you have built them up. You can tell with how the matte shadows looks on my swatches below. These work well with both the fingers and a brush. The pigmentation is beautiful, and one swipe gives amazing opacity. I do wish there a black shadow in this palette. I have other palettes that have black shadows. So it’s not biggy.
The way I apply these is shadows is by applying a concealer to my lids and setting it. I apply the shadows and they looking amazing. So impressed with this palette.
The Masquerade Palette is my only palette in my “little” eye shadow collection. That has so many pops of colour, I have always stayed clear of bright colours. Just because I did not think that they suited my skin tone at all. That little thought has since flown out the window. I love the first row of shadows, that it what first caught my eyes when I saw this palette. Those shades just remind of me of dream destination….Bora Bora. I have post a few looks of me wearing this palette on my eyes. If you don’t follow me on Instagram you should @stephndstuff
Masquerade Palette is a available in a large and mini size. I picked up the mini size during a sale on Hautelook. I wanted to pick up the larger size. Unfortunately, there weren’t any left. Only difference in the pans size.
When I purchased my Masquerade Palette it was on sale on the Hautelook website for $19.00. It usually retails for $25.00 on the Juvia’s Place website. The large Masquerade Palette retails for $35.00 excluding shipping. There are plenty of coupon codes you can use. I used a smaller YTubers code.
There has been some issues regarding customers services with Juvia’s Place. I personally did not have any issues with them. I know they have hired more people to help them. Since the company has grown so fast.
Only thing is that their standard shipping does take about 2 weeks for you to receive your items. And ladies and gents I stalk my online orders like a mad woman.
If you into bright and fun colours or you just want to experiment with colour. I think this is a great palette for you.
