I thought I would start sort of little serious on my blog. Where I review and swatches different liquid lipsticks, since that is sort of what everyone is into these days. So I thought I would start if off with the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick. They are fairly new in my collection
Huda Beauty was founded by renowned beauty influencer Huda Kattan and her sisters Alya and Mona Kattan. After recognizing a need for better false lashes, Kattan took her obsession with dramatic eyes into her own hands. She created a line of synthetic lashes to accentuate every makeup look. I am sure we have all seen her eyelash packaging all over Instagram.
Huda, recently released her first eyeshadow palette (Rose Gold Edition). Shortly after that she released her Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks. Which consists of 16 beautiful shades and 9 Lip Contour Matte Pencils.
The packaging is cute. I what I would say Huda is known for, just like her eyelashes. The packaging was of her eyes and now the liquid lipstick packaging is depicting Huda’s lips wearing the different shades, which are a little off to the actual product. One must keep in mind we all have different skin tones, therefore the shades might not look exactly the same.
Let us talk about the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick formula and let me tell you when I first swatched it, I was not to sure because on the had it just seemed really watery. It took forever to dry on my hand, so I was not to sure about them. However, on another trip to Sephora they had more shades available and I decided on a shade and let’s just say I am really happy 🙂
The formula is light, thin and very pigmented. The shades Flirt and Spice Girl apply amazingly with the opacity. You can go with just one layer, but I usually apply two layers with any of my liquid lipsticks. I will say that this formula does not feel like a regular liquid lipstick for example like the Colourpop Ultra Mattes or the Anastasia Beverly Hills ones. Which can be really drying. These are matte, but moisturizing and so comfortable on the lips. They are a little tacky at first, which I was concerned about at first, but it doesn’t bother me at all.
Flirt is described a cheeky brown. On my skin tone, it’s like a tan brown on my skin tone.
The liquid lipsticks have a sweet scent, almost like vanilla cake batter. Its smells really good, if you are a person that does not like scents. The scent does disappear once the liquid lipsticks sets on your lips, so I doubt it would bother you.
Spice Girl is described as iconic 90’s brownish mauve. It truly is a beautiful shade to me
The Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks retail for $20 on her website or you can find them on the Sephora website. Some Sephora stores do stock them, my Sephora only have about 7 shades in stock. So, I am not to sure about other Sephora locations.
Overall thoughts: These definitely rank second top favourite liquid lipstick I have tried. I was not to sure when I first swatched them. But, wearing them and testing out the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks. I say give these a try, you will definitely enjoy them.
