Yup, I know…. not yet another palette but, In my defense when I first saw this palette from Anastastia Beverly Hills- Master Palette by Mario. I was not to excited about it, until I started seeing it more and more on my Instagram. I just knew I would need to add this beautiful palette to my ever growing collection.
It has been a minute since Anastasia Beverly Hills has done a palette collaboration with someone. Anastasia’s latest collaboration is with none other than Mario Dedivanovic, to create the Master Palette by Mario. Mario is the famous makeup artist and the man behind creating Kim Kardashian’s amazing makeup look.
This palette comes in a black sturdy cardboard compact with gold accents and a full-size mirror. Just like all previous limited edition palettes ABH as released before.
It contains twelve neutral and jewel -toned shades in a range of (3) matte to (9) metallic finishes. You also get a double-sided eyeshadow brush which has a flat shadow brush on one end and a blending brush on the other.
I have heard a few people saying that they wished that the palette, had more matte shades. Personally, I don’t mind the lack of matte shades. I’m sure we all have a matte palette laying around in our collections. I don’t mind reaching for other palettes, to create an eye look.
All the shades are named after the most influential women in Mario’s and places Mario has been with some of these influential women. Norvina (Anastasia Beverly Hills daughter)
- Hollywood (metallic wheat gold w/ satin finish)
- NYC (rich chocolate brown w/ satin finish)
- Kim (ultimate tan w/ satin finish)
- Muse (rose gold w/ satin finish)
- Marina (champagne w/ metallic finish)
- Claudia (slate w/ velvet finish)
- Lula (soft taupe w/ ultra-matte finish)
- Isabel (burnt orange w/ ultra-matte finish)
- Violeta (dark chocolate w/ ultra-matte finish
- 5th Ave (gold leaf w/ metallic finish)
- Bronx (metallic olive w/ satin finish)
- Paris (gilded brown w/ satin finish)
As you can see from the photos this is a neutral palette, with a few pops of colour, with shades such as Claudia and Bronx. We all know Mario loves soft, bronzey, neutral looks, I think this palette truly reflects him perfectly.
You can expect the eye-shadows to be buttery, silky and they can be used wet. Let us not forget that the pigmentation is top-notch. A perfect palette for the Fall months, or anytime of the year in my opinion.
Note that these shadows do have a bit of fall out but, as I have mentioned before that doesn’t bother me much.
I have come to the point where I do not like finger watches, ’cause I just feel like finger swatches don’t always give a true representation of the palettes eye shadow performances. I swatched the Master Palette by Mario with a flat shader brush no eye-shadow primer in this case. The shadows swatch so beautiful, there was not one shade that swatched patchy. I will be post
The Master Palette retails for $45.00 on Sephora,Ulta and Macys websites. This is a limited edition palette, get yours now before they are all gone. Unless…you purchase one of eBay for a ridiculous price.
