Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood

I must be on a Anastasia Beverly Hills kick, since my previous post was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. If you know me then you know I am all about a matte lipstick, but as of late my latest craze are long-lasting liquid lipsticks. I picked up Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood.

Long lasting liquid lipsticks that have recently made a home in my lippy collection. I will be making this a two-part blog post, next I will be talking about the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood

Anastasia Beverly Hills released 19 liquid lipsticks in the beginning of January. And let me tell you when I first saw these floating around on Norvina’s Instagram (She is Anastasia’s daughter) she was rocking them in most of her IG photo’s. I was already obsessed with “Pure Hollywood’ and “Potion”. I  have my eye on “Sad Girl” as well.

On the ABH website, they are described as : Full coverage, intense pigment, and a matte finish in an easy-to-apply liquid formula.
One sweep delivers vibrant long-wearing color that sets all day. Formula is ultra-pigmented. Swirl wand around tube to evenly mix color before application.

The product comes in a standard lip gloss packaging. You can see the actual product in the clear tube. On the tube it has Anastasia Beverly Hills and then this infinity sign going around the top of the top, with a silver twist cap.  The applicator is a standard doe foot applicator. I have had no issues with the way it applies.

Pure Hollywood is one of the shades that stood out to me, when I first saw the shades. This shade has been sold out on ABH website for a while now. Norvina, did predict that it would be a popular shade.

This applies as a cream and dries to a matte finish within minutes. There is a bit of a scent to it,  reminds me of the way my M.A.C Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation. It does not bother me, because once it dries you don’t even smell it anymore.

One thing I must say if you have fine lines or dry lips this formula will definitely settle in this fine lines and accentuate it, since this does dry to a complete matte. But with that being said that when I was testing how this lipstick wears. I do have to say that if you are smiling or stretching out your lips. This formula did not crack the lipstick or separate if that makes sense on my lips. This lipstick might be matte, but it still does have a little bit of softness to it when you put your lips together and I like that. I found that it does transfer a tad bit.

I have to stay I am not sure that it is completely long wearing. Since I found that after about an hour is started fading on the inside of my mouth as well as the corners of my mouth. I did eat a clementine and drink water in that hour that I first applied it.It for a total of 4 hours I applied it at 2PM and by 6 PM it had completely worn off.  I would suggest staying away from greasy foods as the grease would totally break down this liquid lipstick.

Can only imagine how the darker shades would look once, they start wearing away. You would definitely have to re-apply it.

As you can see in the photo above,it looks a lot like my lips. I do have to use a lip liner or another lipstick with Pure Hollywood as it is a little to nude for my skin tone. So I have to liven it up just a tad bit to completely work for me. I have gotten a lot of compliments on my lips once I pair it with something else 🙂 This is a shade that looks totally different on everyone, since I think it all depends on your lips colour as well as your skin tone.

If you swatch it on your hand it definitely does swatch darker ,than it would be on your lips.

All I use to remove the lipstick is olive oil and that works perfectly fine. The oil breaks down the formula

$20.00 for 0.11 oz

Available at ABH and Macys  I do wish they were available at Sephora or Ulta instead of purchasing them online.

Do I think it is worth getting all the shades? Well if you are a make up collector (hoarder) like that, and you have $400 to fork out. By all means go ahead 🙂 But if you are just looking to see what the hype is about I suggest picking up 3 shades that you really like, and see how you like them.

Have you tried any of these AHB Liquid Lipsticks, which is your favourite shade? which one do you have your eye on?

AHB is working on lipsticks now if I am not mistaken, I will definitely be picking up one of those when the do get released.
