I have been abit MIA and that is because I was in South Africa, visiting my family. It was a short, but an amazing trip. Now that I’m back in Houston and bringing you this Juvia’s Place Nubian 2 palette. About a few months back I did a post on the Masquerade Palette
I also share a little about the company as well as the owner of Juvia’s Place.
The Juvia’s Place Nubian 2 is a “neutral” palette with a few jeweled tone shadows. The palette contains 12 shadows, 4 mattes and 8 metallics. The Nubian 2 pans are double the size of the original Nubian palette. I feel like the micro glitter and metallics definitely pack more of a punch than the matte shades. Don’t get me wrong regarding the mattes, they are pigmented so a little definitely goes a long way. The pigmentation is beautiful, and one swipe gives amazing opacity.
I hardly experience any fall out while applying these gorgeous shadows. These shadows swatch beautifully with your fingers as well as with a brush. In my next Juvia’s Place review I will be including finger and brush swatches. I feel like that just gives the person who really wants the palette, a true feel for it.
For those that have never swatched a Juvia’s Place palette. I will give you some sort of an idea, the mattes do swatch a little drying as for the metallics they are almost as rich as butter.
With the Nubian 2 I have found that I reach for just about every shade in this palette. That is a huge deal for me, ’cause we all have those palettes where we only use like 2-4 shadows out of a palette. But, with this one I reach for pretty much every shadow. That to me just shows that you can create endless looks with this palette.
There is something I did want to address when I first posted about Juvia’s Place, on my blog. I’ve read and seen some videos of some people that have not had a very pleasant experience with Juvia’s Place customer service. I will say from the 3 times I have ordered from them. Personally, I have had no issues. My first two palettes did take over a week to be delivered. On my recent order which was the Zulu palette, it probably was the fastest delivery from Juvia’s Place. I will say I have not yet had to contact customer service, so I would not be able to tell you if they are prompt in solving an issue or not.
Below you can see some finger swatches, the only one you can see is a bit patchy and that is the colour “Kenya” as a swatch. Now it does not look patchy once applied to the eye. Just wanted to point that out
I created a look using the shades Madagascar as my transition colour and with a very light hand applied Morocco in my crease. Used Egypt as my all over lid colour, lastly I applied Nairobi in the inner corner as a highlight.
I placed the order on the Juvia’s Place website. I paid $32.09 including shipping and the 10% code I used.
These palettes get a A+ from me. I seriously want to collect them all and I probably will in the near future. I stayed for my review on the limited edition Zulu Palette from Juvia’s Place.
