I have welcomed yet another LORAC palette to my collection, this time it’s the LORAC Mega Pro 2 Palette. I missed out on the first LORAC Mega Pro when it was released a few years back. There was so much drama with that palette. LORAC should release that palette again.
LORAC released LORAC Mega Pro 3 Palette a few months back. I did have a look at it, it just did not catch eye.
For those of us who own LORAC palettes we know that they are some of the best shadow formulas out there. They are buttery, pigmented. I own 4 of the palettes in the LORAC palette family and they are all consistent with their eyeshadow formulas. I still say the best LORAC palette is the very first Pro Palette, everyone needs to own that palette.
The packaging is exactly the same as the pro palettes, that like rubbery exterior. The palette contains a mirror and with the names of the shadows printed below the shadow pans. LORAC says you can use these shadows wet, I have never tried that with any of my LORAC palettes.
In the regular LORAC pro palettes the palette contains 8 matte shadows and 8 shimmer shadows. The LORAC Mega Pro 2 Palette contains 16 matte shadows and 16 shimmer shades. So you basically have 2 pro palettes in one mega palette.
While I was looking and swatching the palette one thing really stood out to me was that every row started with some really light shades and shades that look so similar. So I do wish they did not include so many light/similar shades.
While I was swatching the shades the only shade that I felt that didn’t swatch or perform that great in the matte shades was the shade “Forest.” I did find that there are some really amazing transition shades ; Tawny, Burlap, Melon, Tangerine and Saddle. Goji is also a favourite of mine.
The shimmer shades swatched and preformed a little better than the mattes in this palette. The shades Soft Plum, Cinnamon, Sandstone, Gun Metal, Blue Quartz (My personal favourite in the whole palette. DK.Sienna, Penny Olivine are all beautiful. The shade Gold Leaf was the worst shade swatch and performance wise.
I will say that the first two LORAC Pro Palettes are still my favourite from the whole LORAC Pro Palette collections
