When I first head of Makeup Revolution it was from a Youtuber no surprise, right. Prior to that I had never heard of the brand. It was only until recently that I noticed the brand stand at my Ulta.
TAM Beauty is the team behind Makeup Revolution and many other brands. They aim to deliver exciting high quality products at affordable prices.
Makeup Revolution launched in London in March 2014.
They are 100% cruelty free. None of their brands are tested on animals which is pretty awesome.
Let’s start with the product I am most excited about, the Vivid Baked Highlighter in the shade Golden Lights. These highlighters have been getting a lot of hype and I can see why. They are available in 3 shades; Golden Lights, Radiant Lights and Peach Lights. Unfortunately, my Ulta only had Golden Lights in stock. I can’t wait to get my hands on the other two shades. This has become one of my favorite highlighters, it is all I have been using since I picked this up. Golden Lights is a white gold with strong yellow gold tone. I would suggest that you start with a light hand and build it up.
The texture feels soft it can be a little powdery. I can see how this highlighter can pull white on some people, however it pulls more yellow on my skin tone. The shimmer gives a noticeable sheen and a glow to my skin.
The Vivid Baked Highlighters retail for $6.00 at Ulta.
Next up we have the Iconic 3 Redemption Eyeshadow Palette, which is said to be a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I do not own the Naked 3 but, just from looking at the swatches online I can tell why so many bloggers say that. The palettes contain 12 shades, It is a perfect mix of pearl, shimmer and matte shades. Packed with rose gold metallics and creamy neutrals. Usually, I am not a fan of drugstore palettes as they tend not to be pigmented, patchy. I was pleasantly that it was pigmented, not patchy when applied to the eyes and not a lot of fall out and blended beautifully.
The Matte Blush ‘Nude’ If you have been with me for a while now, you know I am not a blush person. I always feel like applying contour, bronzer, blush and highlight is to much of an over-load for me. So, I end up not using or purchasing blush for that little reason. This blush is very pigmented so be careful when applying it, you will experience a lot of kick back when dipping your brush in the pan ’cause this is an ultra fine blush formula. It applies beautifully I did not experience any patchiness with this blush, I know that can be an issue with some blushes. Dare I say I actually want to try more of their blushes.
Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer – Ready to Go is a beautiful pink toned bronzer that all most reminds me of a highlighter. I say that because if you are expecting a matte bronzer, this is definetly not the bronzer for you. I actually use this as more of a bronzing sheen on the upper parts of my cheeks, when I have “natural” makeup days. It just makes my skin look more alive. Or if you are like and don’t want to make on contour, blush, highlighter etc, you can can use this instead. There are 3 bronzer shades available, Ready to Go is more for people with light to medium skin-tones.
Last, but certainty not the least…the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade Vamp. Vamp is such a beautiful shade for Fall and Winter? It is a deep purple-brown, kind of reminds me of a rich eggplant shades. I was not sure if I was picking up a pigmented gloss, or a liquid lipstick. Even the sales assistant at Ulta was not sure if it was a gloss or a matte liquid lipstick.
I pleasantly surprised to find out it was a liquid lipstick and a good one at that. If you are a reader of stephndstuff you know I love my liquid lipsticks and trying out different ones from different brands.
When first applied these it look as if it is not going to dry down completely, however if you give it about a minute it will be completely be matte. If you are looking for intense,light-weight and long wearing I would suggest these. Right now they only have 6 shades available, hopefully they will add some more to this collection. These retail for $5.00
I was not disappointed in anything I picked up, everything I picked up was really good. I definitely would love to try more of their products, just wish my Ulta could restock more often. If you are on a budget or just want to try out some makeup products that are not going to disappoint. I would suggest you give Makeup Revolution a try. In my opinion I think they are way better than some popular brands we find at the drugstores.
