I have not done a nail post in a while, I don’t really know why that is. I definitely should get back in to it, I love collecting different nail polishes. I’m probably the only person on this planet who has never gone for a gel manicure at a salon before, palms to face. The drugstore has some cheaper options from Revlon and Sally Hansen. I see Essie has also come out with a gel formula now and you don’t need the UV light. Today, however I will be talking about the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Color +Base & Revlon Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat.
Gel manicures use to be a thing you would only get done as a salon, now they have at home gel kits…that comes with the gel polishes as well as the UV light. But if that is not your thing you can just head on over to the drugstore and pick of some gel nail polishes and hope you get the same results, as if you were to get a salon gel manicure or pedicure.
I did mention these in my Drugstore Product Disappointments and I was not happy with these at all. But, I thought let me give these a go again.
620 Roulette Rush is a shade I would not normally like, I’m not much of a red nails person I love it on other people. I find it to be a rather interesting shade in certain lighted areas it looks red and even it pictures it looks red. It than also looks like a red/pink color with sparkles in it. Very easy to work with and you can get away with 2 coats to achieve full opacity
425 Lovestruck is a shade that very much reminds me of Essie’s Bikini So Teeny, which is an all time favorite of mine. I always imagine have a bomb tan and this color on my nails. A beautiful powder blue color all you need is 2 coats and you are good to go.
100 Cardshark is an interesting color in the bottle, it looks like it would be a milky formula. Usually with colors like that, they need to be streaking. This color is actually the opposite it is a very light pink not streaking at all. You definitely need to apply 2 coats to get the full opacity.
535 Perfect Pair probably my favorite color from all these that I have mentioned. This shade reminds me a toffee when I look at it in the bottle. I prefer nude colors over bright nail polished any day. Don’t get me wrong I love my colors I just much rather like nude shades on my nails.
Revlon claims that their Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat is our toughest top coat. These are not gel it has gel-affiliated components in it, but it’s still not gel. The top coat has a gel-shine finish, yet again it’s still not gel. If you can take it off in one swipe with acetone, it’s not gel.
Wish they did last longer on my nails. I experienced chipping on the second day 🙁
They retail for $7.99 just for the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Color/Base Diamond Top Coat or you can purchase the ColorStay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Set for $12.99
