You know when you have that one beauty item that you have been wanting to try for ages? You finally purchase it, you try it a couple of times but, do not notice anything amazing happening when you use the product. What is even more unfortunate is that this is like a cult beauty product 🙁 a pricey one at that.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir, is inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s elixir of youth, this treatment smooths away fine lines, tightens pores and gives the complexion an instant boost of radiance.
Personally it did not smooth away the fines lines that I do have, nor did it tighten my pores and lastly I did not give me a boost of radiance. The boost of radiance is what caught my eye initially.
I used this product on my bare skin, as a primer, as a makeup setting spray. Sadly I did not see any different on my face. I did not notice a glow or my makeup being intact after a long day. It did nothing for me. I will say that it is a really nice refreshing spray.
I did love how it smells. It reminds me of having a spa treatment or how a spa would smell. It has grapes, orange blossom, balm mint and rosemary. I smell more of the balm mint and rosemary when I spray it across my face. I see why one would be all refreshed and awake if you spray it on your face first thing in the morning or after a hot day out. Some people might not like the over powering smell that this product has.
On the Sephora website it does say that this product is formulated without parabens, sulfate and phthalates. It is for all skin types. However the second ingredient is alcohol. Which can not be good for people who have dry skin or sensitive skin. But, hey I am not a dermatologist.
You also do have to squirt about 3-4 times to cover your face completely. Keep you eyes tightly close when spraying it on your face. I learned the hard way and ended up with it stinging my eyes like crazy. The travel size is perfect for testing it before you make the commitment of buying the $49.00 bottle. The travel size (1 oz) bottle retails for $18.00 at Sephora
I was really hoping this little bottle contained unicorn blood or something special like that 🙂 I think the smell and the cute bottle is a major selling point.
Have you tried it?
How did you like it?
Did you notice anything different while using it?
P.S I don’t usually like posting about products I did not like or enjoy, but hey I am here to share the good and the bad with you all right ♥
