I sure hope you are not tired of yet another lipstick blog post from me. I just have been on a lip product high as of late. I can explain why, they are one of my favourite things to collect. Who is with me on that one? The other things are highlighters and eye shadow palettes 🙂
Wet N Wild- Mega Last Lip colours are some of my favourite lipsticks from the drugstore and also some of the most affordable ones. They are about $1.99- $2.99 and if you lucky they can are on sale a lot of the times. Where if you buy one you can get another one at 50% off. Now that is what I call a good deal.
The packaging is a basic black tube, clear top. It is the not the sturdiest of lipstick packing around. I know some people are put off by the basic packaging. But,please believe me these Mega Last lipstick are really something awesome. The pigmentation is there and you wont be disappointed.
The lipsticks do not have a scent. One would think because they are inexpensive, that they might have that cheapish smell to them. I’m sure you all know what I am talking about.
There are 26 colours available in the Mega Last collection. So you are sure to find a colour or two to add to your collection. They are of a semi-matte finish on the lips, but I found them to be more of like a MAC satin finish. They claim to be a 4 hour long-wearing lipstick, that does glides on easily with rich, velvety colour that does not cake, feather, or bleed.
One thing I do wish Wet n Wild would do with these lipstick, is change the shape into more if a traditional lipstick shape. To make the application a little easier.
Three of the shades that I did pick up are dupes for M.A.C lipsticks. M.A.C lipsticks are $16.00 where the WnW lipsticks are $1.99-2.99.
908C Sugar Plum Fairy is a dupe for M.A.C Rebel ,914 Mocha-licious is a dupe for MAC Verve and 919B Vamp It Up is a dupe for M.A.C Cyber. There are actually a few M.A.C dupes in the WnW Megalast collection.
I find the Megalast lipsticks do tug a little on your lips when you first apply them. They do remind me of how M.A.C Ruby Woo (matte) applies.
Ravin’ Raisin: Is a beautiful grape purple shade, it wears well and applies really nice on my lips. Very pigmented, I applied it twice to get the colour I desired.
Mocha-licious: Is a browny plum shade, that is said to be a dupe for M.AC Verve. It wear and applies well. Very pigmented. I applied it twice to get the colour I desired.
Sugar Plum Fairy: A pinky/red shade. Said to be a dupe for M.A.C Rebel. I felt that I had the hardest time applying this one. Not very pigmented with just two applications. It looked very sheer, I applied the lipstick about six times to get the colour you see on my lips on bottom left image. It was definitely not my favourite lipstick to apply.
Vamp It Up: A dark vamp purple shade. When I first applied it I was a little scared of how dark it was. And I am a lover of a dark lip. But once I had all my makeup done. I was sort of feeling this dark purple lipstick. It applies a little patchy, so I suggest you fill your lips in with a lip liner that is a similar shade to help make the lipstick apply a little less patchy. It is very pigmented, I applied it about three times to get the colour I desired.
