I am the type of person that looks for a foundation to give a dewy look to my skin. I do suffer from dry skin. The drug store foundation that I really like is the L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation. The Lumi part says it all 🙂 I thought it was time I get a high-end foundation, so I decided on the M.A.C Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC30
I told the MUA at M.A.C what I was looking for and what type of skin I have and he suggested I try the M.A.C Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC30 and that is what I went for.
If you are new to M.A.C and not sure what NC and and NW mean. Have no fear I am here to tell you my beauty lovers
NC stands for Neutral Cool and NW stands for Neutral Warm. If you have Pinkish tones in your skin you should choose NW shade of foundations since they correct the coolness in your skin. And those with Yellow skin tones need NC foundations to counter act the yellow in your skin.Cooler skin needs warm foundation and warm skin needs cool foundations. If you are not sure you can also just head to your local M.A.C counter they are always willing to help you
Texture & Finish:
It is a creamy texture, gel based foundation. It is not a very runny or thick foundation, it is easily blend-able. The finish you get is a dewy like finish
I say that is a medium to full coverage foundation. It is a very build-able foundation, so that is great. When I apply it I use less than a pea size amount on my finger. With me doing that I can always go back and get more if I do need more coverage, I usually do that about two times. And with that it gives me all the coverage I need. Without looking like a cake face, Which I can see happening with this foundation.
Keep in mind this foundation does contain a SPF of 15, so do a flash test first, to see how it does on photo’s.
When I first got this foundation I applied it with my Sigma F88 Flat Angled Kabuki brush, which I thought did ok in applying the foundation. But than I thought to myself , if I did a blog post on this I want to tell my readers. Which makeup tools I used and found that worked when applying this foundation. So one day when I was testing out my foundation, I applied the makeup on one half of my face using my Sigma F88 brush and the other side I used my Beauty Blender. I foundation that the Beauty Blender did apply the foundation smoother then when I applied it with the F88 brush.
I even asked my husbands does he notice anything different on my face and he said that one side looks smoother than the other side. So I foundation that the best way I like applying this foundation, is by using my Beauty Blender. It just gives it a more flawless look than what the brush gave me. And I am all about that flawless look right ladies 🙂
I did use M.A.C Fix Plus on half of my fave, I used it on the side where I applied the foundation with my F88 brush.
I think it is all so helpful if you apply a setting powder if you are a person that would get really oily from this foundation.
When I tested it out the first time I had this foundation on from 10 AM til 10 PM just to see how well the foundation would hold up. And it held up really well for me. I did not start getting oily until about 9PM that evening. So to me that is great, keep in mind I have normal to dry skin.
I think it would be way less for someone with oily skin.

There are 19 shades available in the Studio Sculpt range
It comes in a clear tube with a velvet cap. I can see the cap getting a little dirty, as it is that type of material that attracts dirty (almost like the Lorac Pro Palette packaging). It tells you what shade it is on the back of the packaging, it is sticker though so I can see that wearing off through time.
You have to squeeze the product out of the tube so be a little light handed as a little goes a long way with the foundation.
It smells pleasant, it does not bother me. But everyone’s noses are different when it comes to smells.

I am really happy with this foundation it works really well with my skin. It provides it with the right amount of coverage, gives me that dewy finish which I love. It is an expensive foundation, but it is worth it in my opinion. Keep in mind I don’t have loads of foundation so this is one that I use all the time and not just sitting around.
It is a foundation that can be heavy, but if applied with the right tool. It doesn’t have me feeling like cake face.
I think this is going to be a great foundation for me during the Winter months. Since it provides that little bit of extra moisture.
