Hi Lovelies ♥
“Beauty is about enhancing what you have. Let yourself shine through” – Janelle Monae
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend 🙂
This post was suppose to go up yesterday, but I just was not happy with the quality of my pictures. I was honestly stressing myself out. Until I had to tell myself to step back and just do it later or carry on tomorrow.
Lets get into the post shall we
I wanted to share some of my most used make-up brushes with you. Keep in mind I am not a MUA, but i do enjoy reading on what brushes they like and use.
I do not have a large collection of brushes, with that being said I love the one’s I have.
Make-Up Brushes can be expensive, but you can find some brushes that are more affordable and that are good quality.
I’ve been using the Real Techniques brushes for months and I love everything about them. They’re affordable, soft, they are just all around great quality brushes. I’d recommend them to anyone, especially if you are just starting out in make-up or you are on a tight budget!
I have also been using Sigma brushes. They’re good quality, soft. They are a little more on the expensive side. With that being said they definitely are worth it.
I have also been using other brushes from other companies.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush $8.99 – This brush has received lots of hype in the blogging world and it has lived up to all that hype. It’s a must brush you have got to have in your collection. I use this brush to apply my foundation, it blends my foundation into my skin so well.
Real Techniques Buffing Brush $17.99 (Core Collection Set) – This brush can be used as a foundation brush just like the Expert Face Brush, I actually have never used it to apply my foundation. I use it to apply my highlighter, yes it is a odd brush to do that. But, it works just fine for me.
Real Techniques Contour Brush $17.99 (Core Collection Set) – I am not a contour queen, but when I do attempt to contour this is the brush I use. It works well with powder and cream products. It is the perfect size to fit in the hollows of your cheeks.
Sigma F88 Flat Angled Kabuki $24.00 – Yes, yes I know I need to get the F80 Flat Kabuki. This brush applies my foundation so flawless. I can imagine what the F80 does, since everyone and their Momma, Uncle and GranMa have that brush. It gets in all the nooks and crannies on my face, because of the angle. I love that it is so easy to clean as well. I did a review on it a few month ago here
BLUSH BRUSHES :
Real Techniques Blush Brush – Like I have mentioned in previous post I am not really a blush girl, but with this brush. I just find it easier to apply. It is not to big or small, it fits the apples of my cheeks just perfectly.
Real Techniques Multi Task Brush – This brush can be used for whatever you like, but I have made it my bronzer brush and It works amazing. The size of the brush is just the right size for your face. It does not pick up lots of product, so that is good as you do not want to over do it with the bronzer.
EYES & BROWS:
Sigma E25 Blending $18.00- This is probably my most loved brush, my holy grail brush. I will never ever be able to be without it. I actually need to get another one as you cant just have one. If you only ever need one blending brush, i suggest you get this one. I actually want to try the MAC 217 brush to see how they compare to each other. This is a brush every make-up lover needs, ’cause we all know blending is key.
Sigma E70 Medium Angled Shading $18.00- When I first got this brush I really did not think I would like it, I have since really enjoyed this brush. I use this brush to apply eyeshadows in the outer v of my eye. The bristles are so nice and soft , and the angel just works so well on my eye.
Sephora Pro Brow $15.00 – When I was on the look out for a brow brush, I did not have this in mind. I had the Anastasia one in mind. At the time though her brush was sold out. So I opted for the Sephora one and I have had not issues with this brush. It is also one of my fav brushes. We all need a good eye brow brush.
Elf Eyelash & Brow Wand (came in a set) – There is nothing special about this brow want (spooly) but it gets the job done. It is a must for my eyebrow routine.
Urban Decay Shadow – This is actually a good brush that came with my Urban Decay Naked Palette. I use it when I apply eyeshadow on my eye lid. It does a good job at applying the shadow.
Beauty Blender $19.95- Even though this is not a make-up brush, It is one of the tools I use to apply my foundation and concealer. You can also use it to apply your highlighter. Initially I was really hesitant to purchase this since it is only a sponge, this little sponge comes with a punch. The one I find that is close to this is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which is a more affordable
I did a review on the Beauty Blender as well as the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge here
What are some of your favourite brushes or tools to use?
Here is a little throwback : I remember I purchased my first make-up brush in 2009 at Clicks (A drugstore in S.Africa) and than I purchased another one from a Chinese shop. I still have those two brushes and I still use them. But before that I was using those little applicators that comes with the make-up when you purchase them.
I think this picture below is hilarious, because we all started from the bottom hahahaha
